COLORING IS NOT JUST FOR LITTLE KIDS

Regardless of how old you are, coloring can give your brain a rest from the stress of the day.  Not only does coloring help you relax, but it also helps you to be mindful.  Focusing on coloring helps you stay in the present moment. Check Amazon for stress relief coloring books or print some free mandala art from the link below.

GRATITUDE JOURNAL

Expressing gratitude is scientifically proven to make you happier.  Listen to this Wellcast video for an explanation.  You can make your own gratitude journal out of any type of paper or purchase one that is already made.  Just take a couple of minutes every day to document something that you are thankful for. You can draw pictures, write down your ideas, or even keep a digital list on your computer or phone.

ROCK PAINTING

There is no "right" or "wrong" way to create painted rocks.  Gather or purchase your materials and get creative.  The materials used can vary, so look around your house and see what you have.  Acrylic paints, paint pens, nail polish, and permanent markers can all be used for rock painting.  Set up your workspace, put on some relaxing music, and make sure to clean up your mess when you're done.
